The National Hotels and Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM) has signed a significant agreement with Air Arabia to become the official travel partner for the upcoming IAM Maldives Roadshow. Scheduled to take place from December 17 to 20, the roadshow will be held in collaboration with Visit Maldives and Matato, with the aim of promoting the tourism industries of Sri Lanka and emerging markets such as Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Under the terms of the partnership, Air Arabia will offer special discounts to participants from the tourism industry attending the roadshow. This initiative is set to provide affordable travel opportunities for Sri Lankan tourism operators, encouraging greater participation from across the sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mohammed Bassam Adam, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Aviation Head of LetsGo Maldives, which is Air Arabia's General Sales Agent (GSA), emphasized the importance of the collaboration. He highlighted that the partnership would not only benefit Sri Lankan tourism operators but also help enhance the presence of local hotels, guesthouses, and other tourism representatives from the Maldives at the event.

Ahmed Vahid, Vice President of NHGAM, also spoke about the significance of the agreement. He described the partnership with Air Arabia as a "positive step" in strengthening business relations between Sri Lanka and emerging markets, particularly Azerbaijan and Georgia. He further noted that Air Arabia's special rates would help boost participation from industry partners, ensuring the success of this inaugural roadshow in these key regions.

Recognizing the growing potential of Azerbaijan and Georgia as emerging tourist markets, the roadshow, organized by Matato in partnership with Visit Maldives, aims to enhance Sri Lanka’s engagement with these markets. The event is designed to showcase Sri Lanka’s tourism offerings, promote its attractions, and foster business opportunities in the regions.

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has also emphasized that such collaborative initiatives play a crucial role in the sustainable development of the tourism industry. The roadshow serves as an essential tool for further promoting Sri Lanka's tourism sector through strategic partnerships and targeted marketing efforts.

The IAM Maldives Roadshow will be a landmark event, marking a new chapter in expanding Sri Lanka’s tourism presence in emerging markets.
